Vietnam is an amazing country with a rich history, vibrant culture, and stunning landscapes. While cities like Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi often get all the attention, there's a hidden gem that definitely made my travel list - Da Nang. This coastal city located in central Vietnam is a perfect mix of old and new.
What to Get Up to in Da Nang
Da Nang is a city that's full of life and there's never a dull moment. If you're a history and culture buff, you'll love the ancient temples like the Cham Museum that give you a glimpse into the fascinating history of the Cham people. Another must-see attraction is the Marble Mountains, a cluster of five hills made of marble and limestone that offer breathtaking views of the city. The sound of the waves crashing against the rocks and the smell of incense from the temples add to the unique atmosphere.
If you're a beach lover, Da Nang has some of the most beautiful beaches in Vietnam, like My Khe Beach and Non Nuoc Beach. These stretches of white sand are perfect for soaking up the sun and the sound of the waves will soothe your soul. You can also get your adrenaline pumping with activities like swimming, surfing, and kayaking.
And if you're looking for a thrill, head to the Ba Na Hills resort. The cable car ride up to the mountain top is an adventure in itself, and the views are simply breathtaking. The longest suspension bridge in Vietnam adds an extra dose of excitement.
Where to Feast in Da Nang
Foodies rejoice! Da Nang has a fantastic food scene with local and international cuisine options to choose from. A must-try is the local specialty, Mi Quang, a noodle dish made with turmeric and served with various toppings like seafood, meat, and veggies. Another popular dish is Banh Xeo, a crispy pancake filled with delicious fillings. The smell of the herbs and spices in the dishes will make your mouth water.
And if you're in the mood for something different, there are plenty of restaurants serving dishes from all over the world, like Italian, French, and Japanese.
Where to Rest Your Head in Da Nang
Whether you're looking for a luxurious resort or a budget-friendly option, Da Nang has got you covered. For a truly memorable stay, book a resort with a private beach and wake up to the sound of the waves and the view of the ocean. Or, if you prefer to be in the heart of the action, there are plenty of hotels and guesthouses located in the city center.
So in the next couple of weeks I'll dive deep into the city (and surroundings) of Da Nang. Don't miss out on the chance to discover the magic of this hidden gem in Vietnam with me. Follow my blog, from here on!
