From poem to lyrics

I have asked you to join me in duets on Smule (listen to the songs sung with people from all around the world, you could be on of them too), and now I ask you to help me put music to these lyrics I have written while travelling here alone. I think a sort of melancholic melody would suit the mood, maybe a plain acoustic guitar for example, with some nice finger picking.

I started out writing a poem in my diary about this land where my soul has found its home. ( see post of March 07- 2023)

But now have transformed it into a song, here are the lyrics:

In mysterious places I roam,

On a journey all alone,

With nothing but my backpack,

And the memories come back.

From city to city I go,

With no one else I know,

The sights I see and the sounds I hear,

I share with the people I hold dear.

So I'll keep on wandering,

With no set place or ending,

For the beauty that I see,

Is the only company I need.

And with every step I take,

I feel my heart begin to ache,

For the freedom of the open road,

And the secrets that it holds.

And though I travel far and wide,

With only myself as my guide,

I find a solace in my soul,

In this land where I have grown.

So I'll keep on wandering,

With no set place or ending,

For the beauty that I see,

Is the only company I need.

If make music, send me an MP3 that I could sing these lyrics on, we might just make a hit single! And please add your feedback in the comments section!
